Unable to resolve OpenGL context with view settings #44

Open

Description

@Av3boy

When defining view settings to the constructor like this, the window is unable to create an OpenGL context:

using var window = new EditorWindow(scene, project!, new DefaultViewSettings() with
{
     WindowOptions = new Silk.NET.Windowing.WindowOptions() with
     {
          Size = new Vector2D<int>(1280, 720),
          Title = "test"
     }
});

However, if you create a window like this, everythig works:

using var window = new EditorWindow(scene, project!, new DefaultViewSettings());

NOTE: This MIGHT be a Silk.NET issue. Needs more investigation.

    It most likely is, let's see what the Silk team responds:

    A workaround was provided for this in that Silk.NET issue.

    We might need to rework the windowing system in Core to support this. Perskey did mention about using the main thread for windowing. We should make sure the implementation for this is run on the main thread every time. If we can render all windows asynchronusly, that would be, but the rendering context might be a constraint.
